I think many of us wish that the situation was different. Unfortunately, this isn’t going to happen. Parents and students alike are want to make virtual learning a permanent reality in schools across the nation. It’s because, despite the advancements in vaccines and protocols, online education is quickly becoming the norm amongst the population. Virtual education has been useful for both parents and teachers. Additionally, it isn’t about the young students either. You have to think about the older adults who are overwhelmed by responsibilities.
Virtual Learning is here to stay and here are reasons why most people are advocating for it to remain in place.
One Size Doesn’t Fit All
The one size doesn’t fit all approach no longer works especially today. Learning involves different methods. The times are changing and the expectations are too. As technology is becoming more equipped to handle demands, it provides education with an alternative. Furthermore, people are preferring to work from home where it is safer. What is the point of sticking to traffic and being stressed by situations we can’t control?
Virtual Learning is Safer
COVID-19 has shifted how we interact with people. Safety is a number one concern. Virtual education gives a sense of safety and precaution because it limits to contact. Virtual Learning has worked well in other states. Actually, it’s thriving. It demonstrates the ability to be flexible and be work-ready because more employers are searching for abilities that mimick technology usage.
People are Afraid of Change. It’s Necessary.
What is stopping from more schools adopting Virtual Learning? It’s simple really. It’s the fear that society is changing. People fear change because they may not understand it or there used to a certain way of education being. However, education, like many other things, must adapt to the times to be useful long-term. This change is not something people should fear. What I am seeing is more people motivated to learn and improve because of the accessibility. It’s simpler to learn a new skill today than it was ten years ago. It’s not as bad as most make it seem considering that it’s given more people the opportunity to advance.
